Bio:

Randy, an ex-Pro Surfer, is one of the pioneers in Personal Watercraft riding. In 1978, Randy and a few friends literally invented the sport of Tow-in Surfing. Randy would pull a surfer behind his Jet Ski to enable the rider to gain enough speed to catch the bigger waves that used to tear surfers apart. After the surfer releases from his Jet Ski, Randy continues to ride the wave nearby to actually rescue the surfer if he needs it. The sport they invented has become one of the most publicized Extreme Sports and each year the waves they ride get bigger and bigger. In January of 2001, Randy set a World Record for the biggest wave ever ridden on a Jet Ski (actually his Yamaha Super Jet) where he attacked and conquered a 72 foot wave on the Cortes Bank. In 2002, as part of the Billabong Odyssey, Randy will be searching for an unprecedented 100 foot tall wave to ride in an effort to set a record for Tow-in Surfing...not to mention capture a piece of the $100,000.00 prize!

Randy was the first known FreeRider in Jet Skiing and he defiantly takes it to the limit using the natural obstacles and waves to jump and jib off of. He is one of the top Pro-Freestyler's and has invented many of the crazy aerial maneuvers used in competition today. Randy is an expert in all classes of watercraft, including Stand-up, Pro-Sport, and Runabouts, in all brands, sizes, and styles.

Randy has truly made his living on the water. He can be found producing and performing in exhibitions and shows, competing in the many types of watercraft contests, and working in the film and print industry showing off his one-of-a-kind aquatic skills. For obvious reasons, he holds a Water Safety Instructor Certification and has been Lifeguard Rescue Trained for California, Oregon, and Hawaii, where he was trained personally by Brian Keaulana.

One of his most valuable skills is the very technical operation and piloting of Camera Ski's that are used in film production.

The fun of riding has only been surpassed by the great places Randy has traveled over the years. As part of his Big-Wave Jet Skiing, Randy has ridden the waters of France, Spain, Saipan, Okinawa, Brazil, Hawaii, Mexico, Cortes Bank, the Bahamas, Australia, Japan, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Oregon, Washington, New York, the Florida Keys, and of course all up and down the coast of his home state, California.

Randy has been the Marine Coordinator for Big Wave Expeditions and is a trained driver for Water Cameras, Tow-surfers, Rescue Sleds, Freestyle Jet Skis, as well as Competition Barefoot, Wakeboard, and Waterski tow boats.

He has worked for the major manufacturers of Personal Watercraft including Yamaha, Polaris, Bombardier, SeaDoo, Kawasaki, and Thunderjet.

Randy is proudly sponsored by RedBull, Billabong, Jet Pilot, Pro Tec, Skat Trak, and Hydro Turf.
